Aeonik Font

Aeonik font is a typeface that has got the best of the past and some of the best of the present. Based on the Modernist concepts, Aeonik considers itself as a typeface of the Neo-Grotesk style though it has some specific features of the early mechanical Grotesks. This synthesis results in a typeface that is efficient, simple and suitable for a number of projects.

Aeonik has a grid-based structure to it which makes it look firm and consistent in design. Still, it differs from conventional geometric sans serifs in that the latter has certain proportions that are in harmony wider than the Grotesks but not as wide as geometric sans. This proportional tuning achieves a beautiful typography that works great in both headline and text use. The slightly wider form lends it the much needed presence on screen without becoming too bold, and the thinner strokes help in retaining legibility.

It currently comes in eight general weights following the so-called “Pablo distribution”. This distribution makes sure that each weight is visually different enough to sustain reasonable typographic differentiation. The weight options designed in a way that Aeonik is an ideal choice to use in a vast number of design situations. It can easily move from body copy to headlines and will always maintain a consistent look. Optical adjustments across weights also enhance its performance, making the typeface look integrated when setup with other weights.

Aeonik is also shipped with a large set of characters. It also contains a large number of Western European diacritics as well as the full set of punctuation marks and mathematical symbols and numerals. Moreover, Aeonik’s OpenType features increase its functionality featuring multiple subsets, alternate caps, tabular and lining numerals, and proportional and old-style figures. These features increase the type design possibilities making Aeonik suitable for advanced design applications.
