Darling Modern Font

Darling Modern is a modern calligraphy font that is top quality and has a handwritten and elegant feel. It is great for use in branding, wedding invitations and cards. There are six variants of each of the lower case letters. Note that, each swash is not the same. There are 2 types of adding swashes:

1. Writing letters and swash. Then plugging them to the computer directly. In this case swashes would be the same across the board.

2. Swashes on each letter. In this case, all swashes are different. I outlined each letter independently. That is why no two swashes are of the same length, same style, at least not that I know of. For all swash styles you can look at the font presentation picture with the title “alternative letters”.

Darling Modern offers a complete character set of upper and lower case letters, multilanguage characters, numerals, punctuation marks and ligatures. The font is smooth, so it will be great for any kind of printing methods+you can do embroidery, laser cut, gold foil etc.

In order to use the beautiful swashes, you need a program that supports OpenType features such as Adobe Illustrator CS, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Indesign and Corel Draw.

The swashes are called alternative style. For example, letter “a” with beginning and ending swashes are alternative style for “a”. In order to access you need them you need to open Glyphs panel. To use connecting heart swash, please use alternative glyph for selected letter, after which don’t put spacing.

Photoshop has a glyph panel where you can find alternates and ligatures Select the Sophia Ronald font and go to Window Glyphs and double-click on the glyph you want to use. To open from Illustrator, please, follow: Window –Types –Glyphs.
