Mabry is a contemporary sans serif font family that is exceptional in nature. It was initially created in 2014 to be used by the Los Angeles based fashion house Nasty Gal, named in honour of a 1975 record of funk singer Betty Davis, formerly Betty Mabry. The font started as a custom typeface named NG Grotesque and was subsequently released as a commercial typeface, which we know today as Mabry.
This typeface combines the beauty of 19th-century grotesques and the purity of 20th-century geometric fonts such as Futura. It balances between playful and accurate, old and new trends. Mabry is very frontal and expressive, but there are also a lot of hints of something warmer and more personal. It is a timeless font that will suit any project that requires it to look good and sound clear.
