Recoleta is a modern serif font family by the famous type foundry Latinotype based in Chile. Recoleta is a font that was influenced by most of the type designs of the 1970s which gives it a modern and yet old school feel. It incorporates such characteristics as the rounded shapes of Cooper and the fluent with angles of the Windsor type and combine them into one font. This mix gives the font a look that is at once recognizable and new, as well as old and new.
The font family comes in handy with a full set of weights for different design purposes. For the body text, the lighter weights are suggested as they allow for easy reading, whereas the heavier weights are designed to produce such title and heading text. Recoleta also comes with stylistic alternates that make it easy to introduce different characters into a design and give logos, business cards, and other branding materials a different feel.
Currently a top seller, Recoleta has been updated with new Cyrillic characters, thus opening up new opportunities for its use to many more users.
