VAG Rounded font is a soft and rounded sans serif font family. Heinrich Zulehner designed this font family in 1979 as a modern corporate typeface for the Volkswagen AG. It is characterized by geometric sans letterforms with round Manufacturing of the terminals, which gives this typeface a friendly look. As designed by Gerry Barney, the VAG Rounded family was used by Volkswagen AG’s unified, global automotive marketing for more than ten years.
The design was made available to the general public in 1989 and came as a part of many desktop publishing software packages then in circulation. This made possible for millions of computer users to interact with the VAG Rounded typeface and family. VAG Rounded is available in four weights from ultra light to black, and works well in logos, branding and any design where you want to add a bit of typographic feel to it. For contrast in voice, use a serif typeface or a sans serif with narrow proportions such as the Alternate Gothic, Trade Gothic and FF DIN type families.
